After the latest update of Nordea mobile banking app, customers can now enjoy two new features – the app remembers the user ID and the last login method.
In January this year Nordea started offering the new mobile banking application and in March free automatic push notifications feature was added for private customers. After the last update, the mobile app remembers the user preferences – the last used authentication method and the 7-digit customer number, thus allowing customers to skip entering the customer ID number every time they use the app. Moreover, the Nordea Tools section of the app now features the information on Nordea Cards Discount Programme and the link to the new Application Forms portal. Along with the introduction of the new features, a number of technical and usability improvements have been implemented.
The results of Nordea recently conducted online survey* show that 34% of users in the Baltic states (27% in Latvia, 42% in Estonia, and 33% in Lithuania) use mobile banking applications instead of visiting customer service centres, and 54 % of customers (49% in Latvia, 55% in Estonia and 58% in Lithuania) prefer using apps to netbanks.
“The data clearly reflects the changes in the use of banking services, passing from the traditional approach to mobile solutions - the number of Nordea mobile app downloads year-on-year has increased by 53%. I am glad we are continuing to deliver on our customers’ requests and to achieve one more milestone in the development of the mobile application”, says Jānis Paksis, Head of Nordea Digital Banking in the Baltic countries.
The new features of the Nordea mobile banking app are available as a free update in the Apple App Store and Google Play. It works the best together with the new authentication tools - Nordea Codes app and the new Code Calculator. As of 1 April 2017, these authentication tools are compulsory for the Nordea netbank, Mobile bank and Telephone bank customers (exept eID card users).
