The latest update of Nordea Codes application introduces fingerprint feature that allows customers to access the Netbank, Mobile bank and the Telephone bank, as well as to make the secure purchases on the Internet (3D Secure).

"We are the first in the Baltic States to offer our customers the possibility to access full Netbank and mobile bank functionality using fingerprint authentication function. We are truly proud to be one of the first banks in the region to offer biometric authentication solutions that will make the financial management for our customers more safe and efficient,” says Janis Dirveiks, Nordea Bank's Mobile Banking Solutions Development Manager in Latvia.

Recently we have also reported that the latest update of Nordea mobile banking application allows customers to enjoy two new features – application remembers the user ID and the last login method – making authentication process easy and fast. Moreover, the Nordea Toolbox section of the app now features information on the Nordea Cards Discount Programme and the link to the new Application Forms portal where customers can apply for different banking products online.

The results of Nordea recently conducted online survey* show the change in customer preferences in personal finance management more and more moving towards digital banking solutions. 34% of users in the Baltic States (27% in Latvia, 42% in Estonia, and 33% in Lithuania) use mobile banking applications instead of visiting customer service centres, and 54% of customers (49% in Latvia, 55% in Estonia and 58% in Lithuania) prefer using apps to Netbanks. 90% of users are confident about the security systems of the mobile banking applications.

* The online survey organizer SIA "Omnicom Media Group" by applying the standards of the European Society for Opinion and Market Research (ESOMAR). The survey was taken in February 2017 among 2126 respondents aged 18-65 from all the Baltic States.
