The annual education campaign called “Shadow Day 2015” will take place on February 11. In supporting this initiative, this year Nordea invites Latvian pupils to “shadow” the representatives of over 40 professions in various structural units at the bank, including all Nordea Customer Service Units in the regions. 

This is now the fifth year in which Nordea is participating in Shadow Day, and this year, pupils from Riga and regions of Latvia will get to know the particularly versatile professions of the bank specialists — at Nordea Customer Service Units, Office Administration, Contact Center, Loan Department, Investment Administration, Private Banking, Public Relations Division and Marketing Department, Human Resources Department, Law Department etc.

Head of Nordea Human Resources Department in Latvia, Zigmārs Valtmanis, says “Contrary to the stereotypes, the bank is an extremely versatile employer which combines representatives from the most diverse areas and professions in a dynamic and professional working environment.  Shadow Days can often become a turning point in youngster's choice of future profession; therefore, I believe that it is a great opportunity and a chance one should definitely take. We will be happy to welcome a record high number of “shadows” this year, “shadowing” the representatives of over 40 different professions.”

About the Shadow Day 

The “Shadow Day 2014” carrier education campaign is organized by the Junior Achievement – Young Enterprise Latvia business education association with an aim of acquainting pupils with the requirements of different professions and sectors to help youngster to choose their professions and prepare for the labor market accordingly. Registration of “shadowers” will take place from January 19 to February 4.
