The bank DNB starts issuance of VISA cards with a blind cut
30.06.2014
From 3rd July the customers of the bank DNB will receive VISA Galactico payment cards with blind cut to simplify their use when paying for the goods or services or withdrawing money from ATM. Gradually, all DNB credit cards (MasterCard) and debit cards (VISA) will be replaced by the new design. These are the first payment cards on the Latvian market holding this user-friendly feature.
The blind cut on the bank DNB payment card is situated opposite its microchip and thus facilitates correct and right putting of payment card in a POS terminal or ATM even when the cardholder is in hurry or the light is dim. Moreover, the blind cut is particularly convenient also for cardholders of advanced age or people with impaired eyesight.
New VISA and MasterCard cards to be offered by the bank DNB will differ from the previous ones by their new design, as on retail cards is depicted the nature of the Baltics, while on the corporate cards - elements of architectural masterpieces, various buildings.
DNB customers in Norway and Lithuania as of the date already have an opportunity to obtain payment cards with blind cut, and from the beginning of this July they will be gradually offered also to the customers of the bank DNB in Latvia. The customers at whose disposal are cards with the old design may hold them by the expiry date. Furthermore - even though the production costs of the new VISA and MasterCard payment cards with the blind cut are higher than those of the current payment cards, the fee payable by the customers for the card issuance and use will remain unchanged.
