The comparison of the active 2nd‑pillar pension plans available to Latvians revealed that the Luminor active investment plan has had the highest yield in the last 10 years, earning on average 3,80% annually for its participants, according to the data provided by manapensija.lv*.

"Pension savings is a long‑term project therefore the results demonstrated by the selected pension fund in a longer term are very important. In its pension management strategy Luminor has always focused not only on maximizing the profit but also on effective risk management. Therefore we are glad that our long‑term customers have earned the highest profits even in the most challenging years," says Anželika Dobrovoļska, Luminor Pension Product Manager.

She emphasised that, when making the arrangements for your future pension, the most important thing was to monitor your savings and choose an appropriate pension plan. The more time you have left until the retirement, the safer it is to undertake risks. Latvian residents have the right to choose the manager and the investment plan for their 2nd‑pillar pension assets. Active pension plans that invest up to 50% of assets in stocks are suited for people who have more than 10 years left until retirement. People, whose retirement is less than 10 years away, are advised to choose a more conservative strategy.
