Luminor grants funding of 850 thousand euro to the production company Weld

In 2019, the company Weld acquired a degraded building in Daugavpils, which once was a chemical fibre factory and the largest factory in the city. Over the last five years, the company has renovated and improved the building, and currently it accommodates a modern and sustainable metalworking plant. Thus not only a degraded territory has been improved in the city, but also an environment-friendly and “green” building has been created – thanks to the solar panel park installed on the roof, the plant does not consume additional energy, as the self-generated amount of the renewable electricity is sufficient for the plant.
 
“We are pleased about such long-term customers capable of development as Weld, which we can support in their way to achieving their goals. Our cooperation is already long-standing, and since 2019 we have provided funding to the company amounting to almost 4.6 million euro, majority of which is invested into acquisition and reconstruction of the building. A part of the funding granted this year is invested to make the plant even more nature-friendly by constructing the second round of solar park and also continuing reconstruction of the 100 thousand square metre building. Exactly such companies – enterprising, persevering and determined – are those which can help to accelerate the growth of Latvian entrepreneurship and will allow the national economy to achieve long-term improvement,” states Ilze Zoltnere, Head of Corporate Department at Luminor in Latvia.
