To support the growth and development of medium-sized companies in the Baltic States, Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian pension funds managed by Luminor are investing in a new private equity investment fund INVL Private Equity Fund II. The total investment size of Luminor pension funds is 18.35 million euros.
INVL Private Equity Fund II is a closed-end investment fund for informed investors that focuses on medium-sized companies with strong growth potential. The fund’s strategy includes investments in the Baltics, Poland, Romania and the wider European Union. The size of the fund after the first financing stage is 305 million euros and the term is 10 years, with the option to extend it by two years. The fund will invest at least 60% of its assets in the Baltics.
According to Atis Krūmiņš, Head of Luminor Asset Management and Pensions Unit in the Baltics, the experience, previous results and value principles on sustainability of the Invalda INVL Group private equity investment team are in line with the long-term goals of Luminor pension funds. “With this investment, we can create additional financing opportunities for Baltic companies. We help companies in our region grow and achieve their goals, and thereby give boost to the entire Baltic business environment in general,” added Krūmiņš.
The INVL Private Equity Fund II aims to acquire controlling or significant minority stakes and actively participate in the management of companies in order to significantly increase the value of the invested capital in the long term. Once the fund finds an investment-worthy company, Luminor pension funds will acquire units proportionally compared to other investors.
The fund adheres to the principles of sustainability and fair business practices in its activities. INVL Private Equity Fund II discloses information under Article 8 of the European Union’s Sustainability Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), i.e. the fund promotes environmental or social characteristics in its activities.
