Changes to Payment Rules from 5 October 2025 | Luminor

Please be informed that from 5 October 2025, Luminor Payment Rules will be updated. These changes are in line with the requirements of the EU Instant Payments Regulation and are designed to enhance the security of your payments and reduce the risk of fraud.
One of the key changes is the introduction of the Verification of Payee (VoP). Before confirming a euro payment, we will automatically verify whether the recipient’s name or company name matches the provided account number (IBAN). When you make a payment via the internet bank or mobile bank, you will see a notification after the verification showing whether the recipient details fully match, partially match, or don’t match the specified account number. If the verification cannot be performed, you will be notified of that as well.
When uploading a payment file (pain.001) via Bridge or the internet bank, you will have the option to opt out of the Verification of Payee service. This feature is designed to save your time when making multiple payments at once. The larger the number of payments included in the uploaded file, the longer the verification process will take. You will be able to enable or disable the Verification of Payee feature in your internet bank settings. When making payments via Bridge, if the Verification of Payee is disabled for a specific uploaded file, it can be re-enabled for future file uploads.
When submitting multiple payment order via Luminor Webservice system, the Verification of Payee will not be available. If you would like to use this service, please use Bridge or the internet bank instead.
The verification results are for informational purposes only, and you will be able to proceed with the payment regardless of the outcome. However, to avoid fraud, funds being credited to the wrong account, and potential losses, we encourage you to assess the risks and exercise caution, especially if the payee’s details cannot be verified or if the verification reveals a mismatch with the provided account number.
More information about the changes to Payment Rules can be found here.
If you agree to the changes, you don't need to take any action – they will take effect on 5 October 2025.
If you do not agree to the changes, you have the right to withdraw from the service agreements affected by these changes immediately and free of charge. In this case, you must notify us in writing before 5 October 2025 and fulfil any obligations arising from those service agreements.
Additionally, we would like to inform you that starting from 5 October 2025, you will be able to set your preferred limit for instant payments. By default, the instant payment limit will be equal to the highest limit among all your users and/or accounts. The limit will be set at the customer level. If you wish to change this limit, any user with the appropriate access rights will be able to review and adjust it via your internet bank or Bridge.
